trace.check Release 2024.3

New Synchronization types

Synchronization solves the problem that signal progressions from recordings from different sources are always slightly offset in time, even if the call to start recording is made almost simultaneously. In simple cases, it is sufficient to check for a defined edge between two signals. More robust methods are required, especially for analog signal characteristics with slight distortion or noise.

With ecu.test 2024.3 two new types of synchronization are now available.
  • CrossCorrelation determines the similarity of signals on the basis of a cross-correlation and is therefore particularly robust in the case of distorted signal characteristics.
  • UtcTimestamp does not require any signals, but synchronizes based on timestamp metadata within the recording. The supported recording formats can be found in the user help

New project report is now default

After the revised project report still had to be activated manually in ecu.test 2024.2, it is now active by default.

At file level, project-based information is stored in a .prf file, while package results are stored in individual .trf files.

The Report Viewer and the Report API continue providing the well-established uniform access to all information.
