Until now, there has been a gap in the setup and initial operation of real or virtual test stations: live access to the bus communication in the test environment. ecu.test together with trace.xplorer now closes this gap by enabling Wireshark for this application.

The powerful open source tool Wireshark is already an established solution for live protocol analysis of standard Ethernet. However, support for common automotive hardware was missing. With trace.xplorer, additional recording interfaces for CAN, CAN-FD, LIN and Automotive Ethernet can now be easily set up in Wireshark.

This integration brings the well-known capabilities of Wireshark to the bus systems supported by ecu.test:
